I planted a Dwarf Goatsbeard (Aruncus aethusifoliuin the zen garden along the top ridge of the walkway.
I like the cream-colored flowers and the similarity to Asilbea's leaf structure. There are several of these now in the garden, but I like the dwarf sizes because they are low-maintenance and fit nicely into some of the compact spaces I have within the stone beds along the Zen garden.
It tolerates shade and, best of all, is resistant to deer and rabbits.
